What is a beavertail wetsuit?
A beavertail wetsuit is a two piece wetsuit with a 'crotch strap' on the jacket running from there back of the jacket through the legs to the front where it is fastened.

Why use a trouser and jacket design?
The trousers and jacket design of wetsuit is the easiest design to put on and take off, especially for people with physical and other impairments. The beavertail avoids a gap between the trousers and jacket which stops the jacket riding up in the water and allowing it to seep into the suit.

Isn't a beavertail uncomfortable or embarrassing?
Within the surfing community and in general, a beavertail, in the past, has been seen in a negative way although attitudes are changing. The beavertail is comfortable for both genders and suitable for the trouser and jacket design.

Warmth is often very important to disabled people and it is a well known fact that the head looses the most heat. Therefore a hood is an extremely valuable addition to a wetsuit to maintain that ‘cosy’ factor!
